With much pleasure I announce the additions to the Cabinet as I am confident this new line-up would be able to implement Barisan Nasional’s election pledges and ensure Malaysia’s future progress and prosperity. These appointments reflect my desire to ensure that the make-up of the Cabinet, and the Government, broadly reflects that of our nation. Barisan Nasional was founded on the principles of unity. From its inception and throughout its history, the Chinese, Indian other minority political parties have played a central role in our coalition. It is crucial that they take their rightful place at the heart of Government. Malaysia is a multi-racial, multi-religious and multi-cultural nation. Our diversity is our strength. Our ability to compromise, to respect one another, to negotiate conflict peacefully; that is the hallmark of this nation – and the recipe for our future success.
The Malaysian Cabinet welcomes Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai – Minister of Transport, Datuk Mah Siew Keong – Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Wee Ka Siong – Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Senator Lee Chee Leong Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Chua Tee Yong – Deputy Minister of Finance and last but not least Senator Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun – Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.
