Sitiawan Hosts National Chinese New Year Open House On Jan 28

JELEBU, Jan 21 (Bernama) — About 50,000 people are expected to attend the national-level Chinese New Year open house at the Padang Astaka in Sitiawan, Perak, on Jan 28.

Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said the event, scheduled to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, would be a lively affair.

He said leaders, especially those from the MCA, would join the prime minister at the grand event organised by the ministry.

Speaking to reporters after a visit to Titi town here, Rais said guests would be entertained by local and international artistes, among others.

During the visit, Rais and his wife, Datin Seri Masnah, mingled with Titi residents and presented Mandarin oranges and ‘ang pows’, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations on Monday.
