Roundtable Input To Be Considered For Budget 2012 – Najib

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) – All input and ideas made by participants in the Roundtable Session with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak have been submitted to Finance Ministry for consideration in the formation of 2012 Budget.

Najib in the latest blog entry on said that he appreciated everyone who joined in the roundtable discussion.

“Thanks to all who joined in this discussion. To those who sent ideas through my blog I hope you will continue to join and continue to support me in bringing about transformation together.”

Najib, who is also Finance Minister said after two weeks exchanging views with Malaysians, the session entitled “Budget For Sustainalble Growth” ended on July 17.

“The discussion is similar to the one he conducted when planning 2011 Budget. I used this opportunity to once again communicate directly with the people to tap your thoughts and ideas for 2012 Budget.

“I’m really happy because a lot of ideas and suggestions have been made, all of which are valuable to me in formulating 2012 Budget.”

The prime minister found that three main topics of proposals received were related to public services, education and public welfare.

“One of the input given by participants was on the structure and quality of public service sector, nurturing creativity and innovation in the education system and increased aid for the low income group.”

Najib said there were also strong ideas on agriculture, consumerism, entrepreneurship, welfare and public transport.

“They are valuable input for the government to better understand the landscape for the people’s benefit,” he said
