PUTRAJAYA, Feb 14 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is expected to deliver a keynote address at the 2012 National Gathering of Ulamas, Islamic scholars and Virtual Writers at Hotel Seri Pacific, Kuala Lumpur Sunday.
National Building Friendship Club (Kelab Sahabat Bina Negara) president Mohd Khairuddin Mohammad said the Prime Minister was expected to deliver the keynote address at 11am.
The gathering which is organised by the National Building Friendship Club would discuss current issues among Muslims in Malaysia and would endeavour to find agreements and solutions to unite the thinking of Muslims, he said in a statement Tuesday.
“The main target of the gathering is to unite and create intellectual cooperation between Ulamas, Islamic scholars and virtual writers,” he said.
Mohd Khairuddin said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom was expected to be involved in one of the discussion sessions on current issues on Islam and 1Malaysia Transformation.
Other topics of discussions included ‘Unity of Ulamas, Islamic Scholars And Virtual Writers In Resolving The Problems Of The Ummah’, ‘The Role Of The Ulamas And Islamic Scholars in facing the Cyber world’ and ‘Contemporary Issues: The Threats And Challenges Of The Cyber World Against Islam In Malaysia’.
More than 300 people were expected to attend the three-gathering from Friday until Sunday.
