KUANTAN, Jan 21 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Saturday met 300 Pahang Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders in which they pledged loyalty and allegiance to Najib who is Umno president and BN chairman.
The one-hour closed-door meeting took place at the Pahang Foundation building in conjunction with Najib’s visit to the state.
Earlier Najib was greeted on arrival by the shout of “Kami sayang PM, kami cinta PM, we love PM” by members of Pahang-born Students Council.
The group also handed over a memorandum to Najib, expressing full support for the leadership of the country and the state.
They also pledged to reject all forms of street demonstrations, describing such act as tarnishing the image of the country and causing disturbance to the people.
They said they also rejected student extremism as it was detrimental to the noble values of tertiary students.
Among those present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, Bentong MP Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Bera MP Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Temerloh MP Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, Muadzam Shah assemblyman Datuk Maznah Mazlan and Sabai assemblyman Datuk M. Davendran.
