Permatang Pauh Residents Proud To Meet PM

BUKIT MERTAJAM, Sept 11 (Bernama) — Brimming with pride, Permatang Pauh residents were delighted with the presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the Malaysia Aidilfitri-Merdeka 2011 Open House here Sunday.

Permatang Pauh Umno division chief Datuk Abdul Jalil Abdul Majid said Najib’s presence was testament the government was committed to serving the people although the constituency was led by Parti Keadilan Rakyat advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“It was like a dream,” he said during his speech at the open house ceremony at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Guar Perahu here.

Abdul Jalil said the prime minister’s presence symbolised multi-racial unity.

More than 25,000 people turned up at the open house hosted by the Information Communication and Culture Ministry.
