The Perak Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia has asked the federal government to unveil a RM30 billion second fiscal stimulus package to provide the impetus for the first stimulus package to propel economic growth more effectively. President Datuk Muhammad Mahyuddin Abdullah said the RM7 billion first package was inadequate to turnaround the national economy.
“The amount cannot stimulate domestic spending and consumption as the amount is small. Not all traders were able to receive the fruit of the stimulus package.
“Under the Eighth and Ninth Malaysia Plans, a vast majority of traders did not reap the benefits because the amount allocated was not able to cover all types of business,” he told reporters here today.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will table a mini-budget in Parliament on March 10.
