BALING, March 3 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today PAS has now become a ‘Parti Asyik Serabut’ (a confused party) because of the propensity of its leaders to make contradictory statements, causing agitation among the people.
Najib he could not understand the actual struggle of PAS as the party keeps on changing its course.
“At first, they say (they are fighting for an) Islamic state, then it’s welfare state, and then they say that non-Malays can become their deputy president, but PAS spiritual leader (Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat) says this cannot be done.
“This has caused much agitation among the people; and there a lot more of confusions (in the party),” he said at the meet-the-people event in Kuala Ketil, near here today.
In Kedah, he said, two PAS executive council members had refused to be reappointed, thus prolonging a crisis and causing much difficulties to the Kedah people.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), on the other hand, he said was a “Parti Kalut dan Ribut” (a confused and chaotic party) which had also created much problem as its leaders had the propensity of making haphazard statements.
“The video issue has not been settled, the Pahang Islamic Religious Department issue is still there… and DAP is ‘Depa Ambil Peluang’ (an opportunistic party) which constantly seeks to take advantage of any situation.
“So if you want your future assured, it will be much easier to support Barisan Nasional (BN),” he said. “We in BN have never abandoned our struggle. BN is the party you can rely on.”
Najib also said that he could see changes taking place, including in PAS-held Kedah, in favour of the BN.
“The wind of change is blowing. God willing, we will make a major change in Kedah,” he said.
Najib also urged BN leaders to focus on winning the upcoming election rather than the issue of seat allocation.
