KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s website – www. 1Malaysia.com.my – is now available in Chinese.
The Chinese version comes barely a week after Najib became Prime Minister and is to enable the Chinese community to understand the 1Malaysia concept and get a clearer picture of the new government’s policy.
It encourages interaction between Najib and the people on issues relating to Malaysians and the country towards the forming of a healthy multicultural society.
The search engine in the page also allows for the reader to use Chinese characters to surf for information.
Najib had first launched his website on Sept 16 last year in an effort to reach out to the increasingly Internet-savvy Malaysians.
It contains a blog where users can post comments while also having links to Najib’s Twitter, YouTube and Flickr accounts on the Internet.
Twitter allows Najib to tell people what he is doing day-to-day while the YouTube section contains videos of his various speeches and news interviews. Flickr on the other hand documents his work in the form of pictures.
The site, which was first available in Bahasa Malaysia and English, is intended to “provide a free and open forum to discuss the things that matter deeply to us as a nation”.
