KUCHING, June 21 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is expected to visit the Tanjung Manis Halal Hub in Sarawak on June 29, to mark the diversification of economic activities through the participation of foreign investors.
According to an advisory from the state information department today, Najib is scheduled to officiate at a ground-breaking ceremony at Selumit, for the setting up of a facility by the Sea Party Technology Co, Ltd from Taiwan.
The hub, part of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (Score) was launched by former Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, on Feb 18, in Tanjung Manis, and witnessed the signing of an agreement between the company and Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC), worth RM480 million.
The visit will be Najib’s third official visit to Sarawak in one month as he had arrived earlier for meet-the-people sessions at Kampung Pichin in Serian, near here and at Rumah Manai, Nanga San in Batang Ai near Lubok Antu as well as with state Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders here on Thursday.
Najib had also launched the Kuching International Airport’s extended runway project, opened the Four Points Hotel By Sheraton here, besides attending the Gawai Dayak National Open House celebrations here on June 13.
