KUCHING, Feb 12 (Bernama) — Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak received Sarawak’s second highest award, the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, which carries the title Datuk Patinggi, at a special investiture at Astana Negeri here today.
The Deputy Prime Minister received the coveted award from the Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Abang Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng, in conjunction with the 45th anniversary of Sarawak’s progress in Malaysia.
At the same ceremony, International Trade and Industry Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin received the Panglima Negara Bintang Sarawak (PNBS), which carries the title “Datuk Seri”.
Former Energy, Water and Telecommunications minister and ex-Gerakan president Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik was also bestowed the PNBS.
Najib, who is also Umno deputy president, was accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, at the ceremony.
The investiture is part of Najib’s three-day working visit to Kuching and Miri starting yesterday.
