PETALING JAYA, March 18 (Bernama) — Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has expressed his confidence that the Barisan Nasional (BN) would recapture the opposition-led states following growing support of the people to the government.
The prime minister said there was also a marked increase in public acceptance to government policies in transforming the country.
Najib, who is also Selangor Umno liaison committee chairman, said he was also confident that Selangor would return to the BN’s fold as the opposition had failed to deliver its promises to the people.
He said BN leaders, including him, were working hard to ensure that the coalition would be given a strong mandate in the coming general election to enable it to bring continuous development and improvement in line with the aspirations of the people.
“If the BN win, the country will succeed, the people will be prosperous and the country will achieve the developed nation status, and make a big leap in transformation,” he said at the meet-the-people session at Sekolah Menengah Putra Perdana, Puchong near here Sunday..
Najib said BN leaders, including him, were also working hard to solve the problems faced by the people.
“The BN is very confident. The opposition is in a mess, I see a lot of the opposition’s promises unfulfilled, the people had been deceived, stop lying, once was enough. I have noticed this change in spirit. God willing, this wave of change will bring victory to the BN.
“Don’t tell me we are going to surrender Selangor to the opposition again, we were wrong before, we learned from the mistake and we will rise again and govern the nation better,” he added.
Najib, who was accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, also approved a RM100,000 allocation for Surau Al-Sakinah in Taman Putra Perdana and another RM200,000 for SMK Putra Perdana.
Present were Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Noh Omar, Member of Parliament for Sepang Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed, People’s Progressive Party president Datuk Seri M. Kayveas, MCA Selangor chairman Senator Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai.
