Najib Begins Visit To Perak With Opening Of Retreat

BUKIT GANTANG, Jan 13 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak begins his two-day visit to Perak by attending a dinner and officiating a retreat for Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen here Friday night.

Najib, accompanied by wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, was greeted on arrival by Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, as well as the BN assemblymen involved in the retreat.

During the three-day retreat, the BN assemblymen will stay with foster families from 135 villages in eight parliamentary constituencies in Perak.

A tight schedule awaits Najib Saturday. At 7.30am, he will be at Padang Esplanade, Taiping, for the 1Malaysia Exercise, followed by a walkabout and breakfast at Casual Market, Taiping.

At 10am, the prime minister is scheduled to open the National farmers, Breeders and Fishermen’s Day at Padang Bandaran, Parit Buntar and then to launch the National Agro Food Policy at the same venue.

Subsequently, Najib will cross-over to the Bagan Serai parliamentary constituency to perform the Zohor prayer and join the people for a feast at the Masjid Tinggi, Bagan Serai.

Before returning to Kuala Lumpur, Najib will attend a gathering with the people in the Larut parliamentary constituency to be held at Padang Felda Ijok, about 3pm.

The prime minister is scheduled to leave for Kuala Lumpur at 5pm from the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport.
