KUALA TERENGGANU, Feb 3 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived here this morning to begin a day-long visit to Terengganu.
Najib, who was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, flew in to the Sultan Mahmud airport at 9.15 am in a special aircraft.
They were greeted by Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek and other state leaders. About 1,000 people had also turned up to welcome the prime minister.
Najib is scheduled to launch his visit with the presentation of welfare aid and 1Malaysia aid as well as boats to fishermen in Rhu Rendang, Marang.
In the afternoon, he is also scheduled to attend Friday prayers at the Al-Muktafi Billah Shah Mosque in Ladang, here, and a lunch for the people there besides giving aid to fishermen in Batu Buruk.
In the evening, the prime minister is scheduled to cycle from the Primula Hotel to the weekly market in Syahbandar as part of a walkabout, after which he will attend a closed-door meeting with Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders of various levels.
