SINGAPORE, Sept 17 (Bernama) — Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his Singaporean counterpart, Lee Hsian Loong, have shown political courage and foresight to create a new impetus for better relations between the two neighbours, Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore Datuk Md Hussin Nayan said.
He spoke of the agreement to facilitate cross border commercial and private travel and the recent handing over of water plants under Singapore management in Johor to the state government.
Speaking at Malaysia’s 54th National Day reception here yesterday, he also referred to the KTM land swap agreement between Malaysia and Singapore.
Md Hussin said these historic events not only facilitated a peaceful resolution of contentious issues but also presented the two countries with new opportunities to “widen the scope of their connectivity and set a foundation for joint-venture projects in property development, healthcare and other sectors.”
