PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has directed the government administration and the civil service to boost the implementation of Government agendas and policies this year to ensure the people receive what had been promised to them.
The Prime Minister said it was important to prove to the people that the Government was a responsible authority and would deliver what it had promised to them.
He said based on the early success of programmes that had been carried out, the Government was confident that it was on the right track, hence the need to double efforts and draw all strengths and abilities to ensure multiple and continuous success could be achieved.
“This should be our focus for 2011. Civil servants play a crucial role in ensuring what has been planned and presented to the people be implemented effectively and also ensure that the impact will be felt by the target groups.
“I hope all civil servants will implement a smooth and fast execution of government agendas. If we want the country to continue to progress and for our plans and roadmaps to succeed, one of the prerequisites that is needed is to have a strong and effective civil service,” he said when addressing the Prime Minister’s Department’s staff at its monthly gathering Monday.
This was the first gathering for 2011, which was also attended by Ministers in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop, Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon and Datuk Seri Idris Jala and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Sidek Hassan.
Najib said the implementation of Government-initiated agendas proved the Government was responsible and did not make promises to the people that were impossible to deliver.
