Alhamdulillah, my wife and I were able to fulfill the fifth pillar of Islam, the Hajj, and with God’s will, everything went well. I even took the opportunity to make an unscheduled visit to the Felda-owned D’Saji Restaurant in Mecca. Was an uplifting experience to meet many Malaysians there in the Holy Land of Mecca.

At the 2011 Deepavali Open House held at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kampung Jawa, Jalan Raja Nong, Klang, I reaffirmed that the BN Government will work hard to obtain the support of all, including the Indians. I reiterated that BN had learnt from the mistakes we have made in the past. I also took time to visit M. Chanderan, who lost both his legs due to diabetes at his home in Taman Saga, Kampung Jawa.

At the ETP Update, I announced 13 projects – nine new and four recapped, with a total investment value of RM5.85 billion, a projected GNI of RM8.68 billion, creating an estimated 16,902 jobs.

Left for Honolulu, Hawaii on 11th November to attend the APEC summit. Was given the honour to speak at the prestigious East-West Center where I gave my insight on the Global Movement of the Moderates (GMM).

Earlier on I attended a meeting with the leaders of nine other Apec countries, chaired by US President Barack Obama, where we made good progress on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement. I also attended bilateral meetings with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
