Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Abdul Razak is scheduled to visit Indonesia’s Lombok Island on Thursday to attend the 8th Indonesia-Malaysia Consultations Meeting.

As part of the meeting, Najib is scheduled to engage in private discussions with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

The meeting is a bilateral forum organized between Indonesian and Malaysian governments, which annually reviews and evaluates the bilateral partnership between the two countries.

The last meeting was held in Putrajaya, Malaysia, in May 2010.

“This [Lombok] meeting will provide a good opportunity for the heads of governments to evaluate follow-ups to the various agreements made in the previous consultation meeting in Putrajaya,” Indonesian presidential spokesman Teuku Faizasyah says in a press statement received by The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.

“The meeting will also discuss the handling of a number of issues that are of the two countries’ concerns, such as education access for children of Indonesian migrant workers, border issues, our trade relations and investment,” he adds.
