PM to discuss southern unrest with Malaysia

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva together with army commander-in-chief Anupong Paojinda made an official visit to Malaysia on Monday morning.

Besides strengthening bilateral ties and promoting trade, investment and tourism, they planned to discuss ways to work together to tackle the continuing insurgency in the three southern border provinces with the Malaysian government. Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban, who is in charge of security affairs, and Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya also joined the trip.
