Najib To Visit To Selangor On Sunday

SHAH ALAM, March 15 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will be making a one-day working visit to Selangor on Sunday to feel the ‘pulse” of the people in Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Puchong, according to Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) Coordinator Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed.

He said Najib’s working visit, under the ‘People’s Conscience’ programme, would start at 11am in Petaling Jaya.

The Prime Minister would attend the 30th anniversary celebration of the Sri Murugan Centre at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Vivekananda, Jalan Templer, Petaling Jaya and hold brief meetings with representatives of associations and non-government bodies, he said in a statement here Thursday.

Najib was also scheduled to hold a dialogue with senior government servants and pensioners in Selangor at Hotel De Palma, Section 19, here at 2pm, he said.

He said the Prime Minister would perform the Asar prayers at Surau Al-Fatinah, Sri Antan Flats, Putra Perdana, Puchong and meet imams, nazirs and the committee members of suraus and mosques in the area.

He said Najib would then join a ‘Prime Minister with the people’ gathering at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Putra Perdana, which is expected to be attended by 30,000 people, until 6.30pm.

At the function, contributions would be handed to Parent-Teacher Associations while incentives would be presented to students who did well in the Lower Secondary Assessment.

The Prime Minister would also launch the Sepang BN Youth Motorcycle Riders at the end of the ceremony.

Mohd Zin said, Najib, as Selangor BN Liaison Committee chairman, wanted to ensure whatever efforts by him and Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, met the needs of the local populace and were carried out according to schedule.

He said the Prime Minister also wanted to provide more avenues to be closer to the people of Selangor who had started to state openly they were prepared to choose BN again to administer Selangor more efficiently.
