Najib Is First Prime Minister To Take Action To Resolve Documentation Problems Of The Indian Community

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is the first prime minister to take action to resolve documentation problems involving the Indian community, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri G. Palanivel said Tuesday.

He said special committee chaired by Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri Dr S.Subramaniam was formed by Najib for the purpose.

“The setting up of this committee has helped to resolve many problems facing the Indian community, as well as the people from other races, who do not have birth certificate, citizenship certificate and identity card.

“I want to say thank you to the prime minister, the Home Minister and Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam for taking steps to resolve the problems,” he said in his speech at the presentation of personal identification documents under the MyDaftar campaign here today.

A total of 100 applicants from Selangor and Kuala Lumpur received their documents from Najib at the function.

Also present at the function were Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein and Subramaniam in his capacity as the Chairman of the Special Implementation Task Force (SITF) of the Cabinet Committee on the Indian Community.
