KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 14 (Bernama) — Thirty-eight speakers and moderators from all over the world will attend the Global Movement of Moderates Conference to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from Jan 17 to 19.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is scheduled to deliver the opening address on “Global Movement of Moderates: Way Forward” at the three-day conference organised by the alumni of the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).
The conference themed “In Pursuit of an Enduring and Just Peace” is aimed at reaffirming all nations’ responsibility towards creating a better world for tomorrow and future generations, said IIUM alumni president Khalek Awang in a statement here Wednesday.
“This conference will promote peaceful co-existance in the realm of international relations, economics and finance, education and conflicts resolution,” he said.
He said the conference is expected to be attended by over 300 heads of regional organisations, scholars and academics, policy-makers, members of the security foreign policy establishments, thought leaders, media practitioners and religious leaders.
The Global Movement of Moderates is Najib’s brainchild.
