KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said more stops for the “Mari Berjumpa, Mari Berhubung” meet-ups will be announced in the near future and invitations to the event will be send out.
He said it was something special to be able to meet in person, the people who have connected with him, on Facebook and Twitter.
“I get to see you all as real individuals rather than just small profile pictures!” said Najib in his 1Malaysia blog posting.
So far, he said, he had been able to connect with several hundred online friends from the three “Mari Berjumpa, Mari Berhubung” meet-ups.
“I want to thank all who came for the gatherings and I am very touched by the warm reception given to me in Kuching, Kluang, and Bayan Lepas. I have been thoroughly the encounters and look forward to more of them,” he said.
Najib said he had always subscribed to the belief that every leader must move with times.
“Hence, ever since I took over the administration, I have been using a number of highly accessible platforms – online and otherwise – to engage with you, the people, on issues on the ground and in your hearts,” he said.
Najib said he had decided to host gatherings outside Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur after receiving numerous requests from his online friends from all over Malaysia.
“Over the last three weeks, I had been spending my Saturdays travelling to Sarawak, Johor, and Penang to meet the people.
“By the grace of GOD, I was able to meet my local online friends during each visit, in small and intimate “Mari Berjumpa, Mari Berhubung” gatherings,” he said.
Najib urged his online friends to register for “Mari Berjumpa, Mari Berhubung” gatherings if they wished to take their interaction into the next level.
“As I made it clear during the recent sessions, if you cannot come to me, I will try to go to you,” he said.
