PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, April 1 (Reuters) – Malaysia’s incoming premier, Najib Razak, said on Wednesday he will outline his economic and political policies on Friday in his first address as prime minister.
Najib, who will take over from Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, said he would be sworn in on Friday upon the king’s consent to the appointment.
Najib, who is now deputy prime minister, told reporters his statement would address the “economy, politics and the direction that the government is going to take”.
The king, a constitutional monarch, is expected to agree to the transition which will take place in line with an agreed timeline
