KANGAR – Foreign leaders have praised Malaysia’s accomplishments and achievements, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
The Prime Minister said this was relayed to him when he met Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, British Prime Minister David Cameron and Pope Benedict XVI.
“These leaders praised Malaysia and our people’s achievements,” he said at a meet-the-people session in Dewan Wawasan 2020 yesterday.
Najib also said Malaysia would not have been regarded as a model nation by many countries had it not been administered in a fair, transparent and responsible manner.
Later, during a ceremony to give financial aid to Chinese and Tamil schools in the state, Najib said Malaysia was the only country in Southeast Asia that has vernacular schools to cater to all races.
“This shows that our differences are not a problem, but it makes us more special and unique,” he said at SJK(C) Hwa Ail in Arau.
