KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 24 (Bernama) — Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Malaysia must have the human capital that is capable of carrying out the responsibilities of developing physical and social development to propel the country forward.

“This means you, the youth and future of Malaysia, must prepare yourselves to take on these tasks,” the Prime Minister said in his 1Malaysia blog Monday.

Najib said that last Friday he launched the RM20 million Dana Belia 1Malaysia or 1Malaysia Youth Fund to finance ideas and projects by the youth.

He said the fund would provide them with a platform to make such preparations and would act as the “tipping point” to execute these activities.

Najib said that through his interactions with the youth, he had seen and heard many great ideas and ambitious plans to benefit the community and the country in numerous ways.

“Even the simplest ideas can spark significant change in your community and in you. This fund encourages you to explore those ideas. I hope you take the time to learn more about this fund at its website,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that he was also excited that a portion of the fund would also be offered through a special television programme via Media Prima in April.

As such, he said that there would be many Malaysians watching and rooting for the youth’s success as they strive to make their ambitions come true.

“As you can clearly see, this fund is special to me. I urge you, the youth and future of Malaysia, to seize the opportunities and possibilities it offers to realise your dreams, aspirations and goals for Malaysia. In turn, this country looks to you to do great things with this opportunity,” he said.
