RAWANG, Jan 6 (Bernama) — The first day of the 1Malaysia Community programme (K1M) has received overwhelming response when the multi-ethnic communities visited the programme site at Padang Jalan Kantan, Hulu Selangor, here Friday.
The three-day programme involves a variety of social community activities and interesting performances, organised by the Information Communication and Culture Ministry and the Information Department.
A total of 25,000 people were expected to attend the launch of K1M this afternoon, attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who is also scheduled to launch the Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim’s book entitled ‘1Malaysia Cabinet – Reflecting on Cabinet Governing’.
Selangor Information Department assistant director Khairul Anuar Saimun said more than 300 people from local residents and students of four primary and secondary schools near here participated in the ‘Senam Seni’ activity.
Meanwhile, 169 stalls were set up by the government and private agencies as well as K1M members to showcase various information and interesting products for visitors who attended the programme.
Visitors also could obtain free dental care services, blood sugar screening and health counselling services at Hulu Selangor Health Department and Hulu Selangor Dental Health Services’ tents.
