PETALING JAYA: Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon is “humbled and honoured” to be included in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s team.

As the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Unity and Performance Management), Dr Koh hoped to work with the people to realise the objectives of the 1Malaysia agenda.

The former Penang Chief Minister was appointed as a senator yesterday to enable him to become a minister.

Dr Koh pledged to work hard, draw on his expertise and experience, learn from the people, and do his best in his new role.

Gerakan, he said in a press statement, was grateful their two deputies – Datuk Tan Lian Hoe and Senator A. Kohilan – were re-appointed to the Cabinet.

Tan, formerly the Deputy Information Minister, is now the Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister.

Kohilan, formerly the Deputy Plantation, Industries and Commodities Minister, was redesignated Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister.

“They will continue to work diligently in their new roles,” said Dr Koh.
