ALOR SETAR, Feb 11 (Bernama) — The Barisan Nasional (BN) government gives priority to its vision for the country instead of making empty promises to garner the people’s support, Datuk Latt Shariman Abdullah, the prime minister’s special functions officer, said here.
Every plan and programme of the BN government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is progressive, he said when officiating at the “Ponggal” (harvest festival) celebration of the BN-friendly Indian Progressive Front (IPF) in the Kuala Kedah parliamentary constituency here yesterday.
Latt Shariman, who is Kuala Kedah Umno chief, said that unlike the BN government, the PAS-led government of Kedah had failed to fulfill the promises made in the party’s 2008 general election manifesto.
Almost 100 Kuala Kedah IPF members participated in the Ponggal celebration.
This morning, Latt Shariman joined 100 elderly people in a gotong-royong clean-up of the area around the Simpang Empat Kangkong health clinic near here.
The clinic offered free medical examination to the people who attended the event.
