I have always believed in seeing the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) regain its former glory and contribute to the greater strength of the Barisan Nasional coalition. Our number one task now is to ensure that the coalition remains strong.
I had the honour of officiating the 23rd SUPP General Assembly in Sarawak last Monday, and as the chairman of Barisan Nasional, I have always stood by SUPP because I believe in the politics of principle. Nobody is larger or bigger than the interest of the party. As leaders, we are only as good as the party we represent. Therefore it is imperative that we ensure our party remains strong at all times. When we are united, we become stronger than the sum of our individual parts.
Yes, we should continue working hard but if we have unity, passion and good heart, our party can continue to offer people new hope for the future. Therefore, SUPP must conceive concrete plans to deliver real change for the rakyat. Only then we can win over the hearts of Sarawakians for them to continue vesting their confidence in the party.
Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Haji Adenan Bin Haji Satem and I shall continue to stand by SUPP. Lets not talk about leaving Malaysia, as Sarawak is big enough for everybody and that Malaysia is big enough for everybody. As Barisan Nasional chairman, I am here to render full support for SUPP and for all Sarawak Barisan Nasional component parties.
